I was reluctant to add that because I just wrote a post a few weeks ago about saving money on winter clothes, but I save a lot of money by buying nice winter coats and other clothes from thrift and consignment stores.

I’ve found that many items at thrift stores are in completely acceptable shape – a tiny stain or two, or sometimes looking just as great as at a consignment store. We’ve saved a ton of money like this. I’ve also found great nursing wear at both consignment and thrift shops for a fraction of the cost of new.
